Good budget alternative

"I bought this to mount to my 2008 V-Strom. I could have mounted it using the supplied hardware, but decided to buy some longer bolts for the front mounting holes, which line up perfectly with the stock rack mount locations. I used the provided bolts and steel strap for the rear mounting holes.
The box is decent construction. The latch and lock are fairly flimsy, but I haven't had any issues with either of them. The quick release latch is a bit finicky. You have to kind of wiggle the box while pressing the release. There's a chrome 'Maltese cross' sticker on the top to cover some manufacturing marks which looks totally out of place. I think a black sticker would look much better. The plastic straps that keep the lid from opening too far are fairly annoying. They're too stiff and get twisted up which causes them to get caught between the lid and box when closing the lid. I plan to replace them with some gutted paracord or maybe a small chain. I haven't had it in the rain yet, so I can't vouch for the "weatherproof-ness" of this box. As far as capacity, I can fit my Arai RX-7 Corsair helmet, winter gloves, summer gloves, balaclava, and a pair of over-pants in the box. The trick is to put the helmet in first as it has to be positioned just right for the lid to close.
It's no GIVI, but it's also considerably cheaper than one (~$260+ cheaper). Overall, it's a great case and would definitely recommend this to anyone. I'd buy another if I had a use for it."

Great Value for the money

"If you are looking for a cheap box and mount, this is it. It comes with a nice solid mount, you could probably mount it to almost anything. The first one I got had a hole in it, but I called JC and they promptly sent me a replacement one. Shipping is also very fast. I have several GIVI boxes and they are much better quality, but for the price you just can't beat this box. The design is almost identical. I bought this for my dual sport bike (Honda XR650L) and it works great. I wouldn't want to spend a bunch of money on a GIVI as this works and I won't be upset if I get it covered in mud or hit a tree and bust it. I also pressure washed the bike and my things inside stayed dry. I hope this helps you with your decision."

Great Case!

"Is it a Givi? Well no, it's not. But for the price it is a very worthwhile addition for your bike. I mounted it on my 2012 DL650 and while it was a bit fiddley that wasn't the fault of the case, only in the design of the V-Strom rear rack. I would recommend gluing down the four rubber baby buggy bumpers because they don't fit into the mount particularly tightly. It holds my XXL Nolan N90 with the lid just touching the helmet. I don't use it for that, but to hold my rain gear and lunch. For the price you can't go wrong! Did I mention that a pair of these would make great budget side cases? They snap in to the Givi Monokey side racks on my bike. If I hadn't already ordered a set of E22n cases I would have bought another pair of these. I tried the one I had on and it looked great. You won't be sorry if you're trying to save some dough and want a good looking case."
